"I love Jesus and I’m excited for the opportunity to partner with him in this very important time in HIStory."

For many years I went to church, served the church and worked in faith-based organizations. Yet it wasn’t until I left the institutional church that I began to better understand how to live an integrated life of meaning and purpose, as a disciple of  Jesus, intent on and equipped to live as his Kingdom partner.

Hi there, i’m muffie

Reclaim Initiative has played a key role in my Kingdom faith experience I like to describe as my “born again, born again” faith journey. In my early life, I was a “seeker” longing for a safe place of belonging. As a young teen, I was invited to a Young Life meeting where I first encountered the love of Jesus when I immediately felt seen and safe. It was the warm and welcoming community and the care I experienced from others that opened my heart to the one person they all had in common, Jesus.

After that first encounter with Jesus I spent much of my life committed to him through my institutional church experience.

I studied the Bible and went to church. I was taught that as my relationship with Jesus grew, I would become more like him and that one of Jesus’ distinguishing characteristics was being a servant to all. So my church experience taught me that the natural thing to do was to serve the needs of the church. When asked, I was quick with a “YES!” I volunteered, taught Sunday School, made cookies, painted, cleaned, and a plethora of important leadership jobs at church. Yet by the time I was a young wife and working mother of three, I realized the “Christian life” was draining me dry.

I began questioning my relationship with Jesus and if my true purpose and identity was being a volunteer at church.

Thankfully it was soon after that when I met Tamara Buchan and I discovered a whole new way of living life with  Jesus. Through Tamara’s mentoring, I discovered that God had a unique “divine design" for me and in order to live my life’s purpose or birthright, it was important to discover and embrace the person God created me to be.

Reclaim Initiative is about helping people reclaim their true identities and has helped me  overcome obstacles that for years kept me from living my God given destiny.

Now I embrace my life and faith journey and am grateful to Reclaim Initiative and the people I’ve come to know through it.

I am a community builder and I enjoy sharing life with the faithful, the seekers, the sojourners and the disenfranchised who want to live their best life now! I enjoy hosting Reclaim Community Gatherings and believe that when we partner with Jesus  by creating space (both in person and virtual) to gather and share life with others, we make room for people to come and discover a place of belonging where the healing, transformative love of God is experienced. Much like what I experienced as a teen, many years ago.

I would enjoy talking with you or better yet, meeting with you at a Reclaim Community Gathering where I hope you will encounter Jesus and discover a place of belonging with others who want to  experience Kingdom life together.

I live on the coast in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my husband, two happy Pyrador sister pups and a sweet Scottish Fold housecat. I have three adult children who have taught me so much more than I could ever have taught them. I acknowledge that the land I live on is the ancestral home of the Coast Salish people that include the Kikiallus, Samish and Lower Skagit tribes. It is an honor to care for and nurture this land.
